About Missions Ministry

Simply transporting across the ocean does not make a missionary out of you. The prime pre-requisite for anyone in service to Christ is summed up in those famous few words of the Apostle Paul..."The Love of Christ constrains me". If you have any other motive you will fail.

To get a taste of missions in Spokane, Union Gospel mission has a link on it's site called Statistics located at http: //www.ugmspokane.org/statistics.htm . It touches hearts with the need here in our own back yard, and motivates ordinary folks like you and me to want to do everything in our power to reach others with the time we have left.  Also included is a link for getting involved.

Involvment is the key word. To get involved, start small, maybe helping in the nursery, ushering, greeting and serving in the kitchen. Then as you see a need, simply respond. It doesn't take money, power, or strength on your part. SImply yield, surrender pride and humbly ask what needs to be done. When He trusts you with obeying the little steps, He shows you more and pretty soon......WOW!

Remember: whatever you do, you are serving as unto to Lord, not man. It is between you and Him.

There are many different ministry ideas. Please choose one from the list below and give it a try!.

Cumbre

Pastor Ivan is pastoring in Cumbre, Mexico, which is just outside of Tijuana. He has been working in conjunction with Mount Spokane Church for the last 8 years. Mount Spokane ministry teams and Community Bible Chapel teams have taken trips there spanning the last 8 years. Several houses have been built and lives touched.

Upcoming trips are scheduled. Fund raising for the teams is another opportunity of service. Please check with Danny or Sherry for details by clicking here.

Local Refugees.

There are numerous refugees throughout Spokane, from Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe and Russia. Please accomodate them as you bump into them and be sensitive to their needs, both physical and emotional. They have amazing stories behind their appearance and do not always understand our ways. They need help adjusting to shopping, driving, legal and rental issues, resource locations, directions and church attendance. So often even a smile goes a long ways.
